[CH.6] Enjoyment After Working Hours (Part 1)
At 5:00 PM.
Today, instead of going to a client's location, Manager Mimasaka had informed all the employees of the current policy and future activity plans.
In terms of staff roles, Manager Mimasaka handles about 70% of the customers in the Hamayama area by visiting them and conducting sales activities. My colleague, Nishina, handles the remaining 30% of clients while also juggling sales support tasks.
Sales support tasks involve tasks like creating documents, preparing quotes, and answering phone calls, essentially providing support to the sales team. In our office, Kuhou-san takes on the majority of these responsibilities.
As for me, I have a role, but for now, I've been asked to assist the other three while gaining an understanding of Hamayama's current situation.
Manager Mimasaka is stricter than I imagined, but both Nishina and Kuhou-san are exceptionally skilled, keeping up with her without any trouble. Looking at it from the outside, it's painfully clear how inadequate my own abilities are, and I almost feel like crying...
But it's true that our small sales office consistently ranks at the top in terms of revenue, and if we look at it per person, we're definitely leading the way.
However, her strictness isn't unreasonable; it's a kind of toughness meant for my benefit. When I'm praised for the knowledge I've gained in these four years and told that they have high expectations for me, I strangely don't feel upset. Maybe she's skilled at controlling people's emotions. Or perhaps it's the joy of being guided by someone beautiful.
Either way, this kind of strictness is beneficial for my skill development, and I couldn't be happier about it.

The clock struck 5:30 PM.
"Well, let's call it a day for today."
"Thank you for your hard work." "Thank you."
"Oh, thank you."
In response to Manager Mimasaka's words, both Nishina and Kuhou-san followed suit. The three of them immediately clocked out, ending their work for the day.
However, none of them were heading home. Instead, they returned to their respective desks.
I had heard they didn't do overtime, but... what's this, working even after hours? It's the first day, so maybe I should offer to help with something.
"Manager, if there's anything I can assist with, please let me know."
"Huh? Oh, Hanamura-kun. Work for today is done, so you can go home."
"But everyone seems to be working... Leaving just like that... If there's some overtime work, I'm more than willing to do it."
"Work is already finished. What everyone is doing now is their own private time."
"Huh?"
Upon closer inspection, Manager Mimasaka wasn't using the company-provided laptop but her personal computer. Nishina had her tablet, and Kuhou-san had her smartphone out.
"Hanamura-chan is an otaku, so I understand. He definitely won't gossip about us, right? It's okay to talk about us, isn't it?"
Her words carried a hint of venom, but for some reason, it felt great to be trusted by Nishina. Even though I'm an otaku, I've been too busy with my writing activities lately and haven't consumed much media.
"Well... if Nishina trusts you, then maybe it's fine. After all, you'll be here for a while... You can talk."
Manager Mimasaka and the others simultaneously showed me their devices.
"Hanamura-san... we're web novelists."
"What!?"
