[CH.53] Summer Beach Recreation (Part 8)
"Wow, this is amazing."
The Seaside Hotel's suite room was truly something special, and it showed with the 50,000 yen price tag. I had never stayed in anything other than business hotels that cost around 5,000 yen, so the difference was staggering. With a terrace balcony offering a view of the sea, a bathroom with a panoramic view, and a spacious bed, it was clear that they spared no expense.
Since I had shelled out a significant amount of money for this stay, I decided to make the most of it.
After cleaning up in the bath, I changed into pajamas. I usually slept in my underwear, so I hadn't planned on using pajamas, but it was a good thing I brought them just in case.
And then, there was a message on my phone from the director, stating that we were to gather in the room for the training camp in an hour. It was a work order, I suppose. At least we'd get paid for it...
Well, that's fine. I'd have the opportunity to enjoy the sight of the three beautiful women fresh from the bath.
I decided to take my time and appreciate the view.
Leaving my room, I knocked on the door of the adjacent multi-person room.
"Yes?"
It was Kuhou-san's voice.
"It's Hanamura. Can I come in?"
"Everyone just finished bathing, so it's fine."
I entered the room.
As the door opened, a cute girl with long black hair was dressed in pink loungewear. I nearly let out a surprised noise but managed to hold it back. Alright, I'm an adult. I can't stay as a character who gets embarrassed and can't accept compliments.
"Wow, Kuhou-san, your pajamas look good."
"Huh, um... Is it weird?"
They suited her incredibly well. Her blushing cheeks made her look even cuter. She had a sort of noble vibe... could she be an ex-company president's daughter? Seeing her in a swimsuit and her post-bath appearance... it was making my heart race.
"It's a bit embarrassing to show this to a guy..."
"Haha... well, that can't be helped."
"Cancel the training camp, absolutely do not let Hanamura-kun in!"
Suddenly, the manager's voice rang out. I was so surprised by this turn of events that I was taken aback.
"Well, but..."
I could hear a voice from the back of the room. It was probably Nishina-san who was responding.
"Maybe it's time, so let Hinata know!"
"He's already here."
I got in before anyone could stop me. It's not like she would be changing clothes right now. If she were changing, Kuhou-san wouldn't have let me into the room. So... there shouldn't be a problem.
Or so I thought.
Until I came face to face with the manager inside the room.
"Oh..."
"Oh."
There stood a girl with an exceptionally cute face – a beauty, or rather, she could even be called a beautiful young girl.
I stared at her intensely. This girl looked remarkably like the manager.
At first glance, she seemed like the manager's little sister. I see, the manager's little sister must have snuck in here.
But that's where most cliché romantic comedy protagonist scenes would end. However, when you think about it logically, there's no way she could be the director's sister.
"...Manager Mimasaka, right?"
"I-I, I can't believe it! You saw me without makeup!"
That's when I finally understood. Manager Mimasaka had absolutely refused to go into the sea at the beach. I had only ever seen her with full makeup during work. This must be Manager Mimasaka's natural look.
Manager Mimasaka hid her face, looking embarrassed, and buried it in the pillow.
"You're a bit late," Nishina-san sighed.
"Hanamura-san, you've never seen Manager without makeup before, have you?" Kuhou-san asked.
Well, it makes sense. Most people wouldn't see someone without makeup unless they were family or in a close relationship. Nishina-san and Kuhou-san seemed to have removed their makeup, but their appearances didn't change that much.
"I had vowed never to show my makeup-free face to a man... I can't believe it," Manager Mimasaka lamented.
"You don't have to make such vows... Just think of makeup as a woman's battle gear," I said, trying to ease the tension. "It's fine if you don't see me as a man."
Manager Mimasaka looked puzzled. "Huh?"
"You can think of me as a younger subordinate... If you think of me as your little brother, it should be okay to show your makeup-free face to me."
It was an awkward conversation, but I didn't want things to become strained between us.
"Yeah, Manager! Hanamura can call you 'big sister.'"
"I'm not sure I understand that," Manager Mimasaka replied.
"Come on, Hanamura! Manager loves little brother types, so it might actually work," Kuhou-san added.
Even though I felt uncomfortable with this new information, Kuhou-san seemed to be saying quite a disrespectful thing. Did she even realize that? Calling her 'big sister' would be embarrassing for her. I'm not a shota or a bishonen. I'm just a 26-year-old man.
Under the urging of Kuhou-san, I reluctantly called out to Manager Mimasaka, "Um, big sister. Let's talk together."
Manager Mimasaka peeked out, "Sure..."
Could it be? Did it work?
Manager Mimasaka approached, still averting her face.
"I- I mean, big sister," I stammered.
"Ideally, someone around 160 cm tall, with black hair, cool and calm, and a deep, boyish voice like Izaya Orihara from Durarara," she replied.
"That's quite a specific request!" Kuhou-san commented.
"I'm starting not to care about anything anymore," Manager Mimasaka sighed.
It seemed like Manager Mimasaka had also relaxed a bit. However, she still looked like a real beauty without makeup. Hard to believe she was 28 years old.
"Manager looks stunning even without makeup, and honestly, right now... is more than enough," I reassured her.
However, I immediately regretted my words when sharp pain shot through both my legs.
"Ouch!"
I glanced at the two women on either side of me, who were both smiling but had very unsmiling eyes. That was a serious slip of the tongue.
"I am the manager, you know. Can I secure business deals looking like this, with this baby face?" Manager Mimasaka asked.
"Well, that's..."
Her flawless makeup and her eloquent way of speaking felt like the essence of Manager Rion Mimasaka, the head manager of Hamayama Sales Office. I couldn't imagine going to a client presentation with a baby face... Yes, that's right.
"I apologize... I said something rude."
"Well, it's fine. Putting on makeup at this point would be a hassle... Just remember that my makeup-free face is a one-time special, okay?"
"What? But you look so cute even without makeup!?"
"Waah! You said it out loud!"
Oops, I accidentally blurted that out. Manager Mimasaka's face turned bright red.
"Manager is used to being called 'beautiful' and 'gorgeous,' but she doesn't handle 'cute' very well," Kuhou-san explained.
"Kuhou! No need to explain that!" Manager Mimasaka scolded.
I couldn't help but smile at Manager's blushing face. Everyone's hidden sides were coming out during this vacation, and it was quite enjoyable.
