[CH.42] Debt collector

"Bullshit!" roared Biao Ge angrily. "I'm looking for a man, but this person is clearly a girl. I may have face blindness, but I can at least tell the difference between men and women."

"But he is..."

"Bullshit!"

Silenced by Biao Ge's outburst, Sun Zhe immediately fell silent. He shrunk behind Han Huayang, not saying another word.

The man referred to as Biao Ge was actually named Wang Biao. He was a professional debt collector, specializing in recovering debts, and had quite a reputation in the debt collection circles. Apart from his muscular physique, Wang Biao was most renowned for his debt recovery skills. No matter how far a debtor tried to escape, Wang Biao would track them down.

Due to his excellent debt collection record, he had some connections with the underworld.

Interestingly, Wang Biao had developed prosopagnosia, a condition where he couldn't recognize faces, after suffering a head injury during underground boxing. To him, others appeared as distorted, abstract concepts of facial features, and beauty or ugliness were just a collection of shattered attribute labels. Wang Biao relied on his instincts to distinguish people.

Much like a dog can recognize scents, Wang Biao could differentiate individuals based on his perception.

He had located Sun Zhe, who might know Han Huayang, through his perception and had arrived at this apartment.

In Wang Biao's perception, Han Huayang was a slim and somewhat attractive young lady. He was quite sure about this. However, the client had instructed him to find a young man, and that much was clear.

"Little sister, have you seen this person before?"

"I haven't. May I ask what this is about?"

"This poor guy's dad owes a little money, and I'm here to ask him some questions."

In truth, it was not just a little money. Han Huayang's father had run away after accumulating a debt of 350 million yuan from high-interest loans. Most of the family's assets had already been seized to cover the debt, leaving a remaining 200 million yuan to repay.

There had been other debt collectors coming after Han Huayang's mother previously. To protect his mother, who suffered from stomach problems, from debt-related harassment, Han Huayang had made a contract with Kate, exchanging a portion of his soul for 3 million yuan and access to the Magical Girl System.

At the beginning of the month, Han Huayang had already transferred that 3 million yuan to the debt collector discreetly. So why was another debt collector now showing up?

"Are you here to collect money from that person?"

"Of course not. As far as I know, that poor guy can't even repay the loan to the client. They sent me to take him away."

"Take him away?"

"Yes, his dad and the client signed an agreement that if he couldn't repay the money, they could take his family members as collateral. That poor guy's dad is quite ruthless. He sold his daughter for 3 million, but he sold his son for 5 million. Can you believe that? A 20-year-old young man sold for more than a 16-year-old girl. Can you believe it?"

Han Huayang only now realized that he had been unwittingly used by his scumbag father as collateral for gambling. The 3 million he had previously handed over was actually his sister's ransom.

"Are you involved in human trafficking?"

"Human trafficking is illegal, and I'm just a regular debt collector. My job is to take the man in the photo with me. What happens afterward is not my concern. So, little sister, do you know where this poor guy is?"

Although Wang Biao was physically imposing, he appeared rather friendly to Han Huayang, not knowing that he had mistaken Han Huayang for a girl. As long as Han Huayang didn't admit to being Han Huayang, he should be able to handle the situation.

"Sorry, I absolutely don't recognize this person. Can I pass through so I can leave?"

"Oh, I'm really sorry for wasting your time."

Wang Biao smiled kindly, stepped aside to clear the entryway, and gestured for Han Huayang to go through. However, just as Han Huayang was about to leave, the giant Wang Biao suddenly pressed his shoulder.

"But, little sister, can you say one more time that you don't recognize this person?"

"I really don't know him. Is there a problem?"

Wang Biao's face suddenly darkened, and he used one hand to push Han Huayang against the wall.

"You're talking nonsense! I may have prosopagnosia, but I'm not stupid. You can't deceive me."

In Wang Biao's eyes, everyone was a perceptual aggregation composed of fragments. Combined, he couldn't discern features, but when separated into fragments, he could pick up details. As a debt collector, Wang Biao used this ability to analyze details and succeed in his work.

"You're lying, you do know him. Tell me, where is he now?"

Wang Biao's attitude changed from friendly to angry in an instant. The transition was abrupt, and Han Huayang didn't know how to respond.

"Fine, if you won't say it, then don't blame me for not being polite!"

Wang Biao said and swung a powerful punch at Han Huayang's face. Even though he perceived Han Huayang as a girl, Wang Biao wouldn't hold back if he decided to use force.

The punch was powerful, but Han Huayang, in his original state, had an enhancement in physical strength. He simply tilted his head slightly, effortlessly avoiding Wang Biao's punch.

The massive fist hit the wall in front, leaving a dent, and the white wall plaster splashed onto Wang Biao's knuckles.

"Hmm? Did I miss?"

Wang Biao was puzzled because he hadn't expected this slender "girl" to evade his punch.

Taking advantage of his momentary confusion, Han Huayang launched a counterattack.

Due to Wang Biao's large size and the narrow space in the entryway, Han Huayang had limited room to maneuver. He used his hands to push against the wall behind him, using his legs to kick Wang Biao into the opposite wall.

Expanding the space, Han Huayang delivered three kicks to Wang Biao, one to the abdomen, one to the chest, and one to the chin.

It's important to note that Han Huayang, in his original state, had the physical prowess of an athlete. And these three kicks targeted vulnerable areas. For a moment, it seemed like Wang Biao might pass out.

"You little brat!"

Wang Biao spat out blood and cursed angrily. He raised his hand again, attempting to grab Han Huayang's collar.

What Han Huayang excelled at was agility and evasion. He had also trained in agility during his battles as Alice and against monsters. When Wang Biao tried to grab him again, Han Huayang easily dodged. He darted toward Wang Biao's side, where there was no defense, and delivered an elbow strike to the lower back.

This move made Wang Biao kneel on the ground, clutching his lower back and retching.

"Damn... you... you..."

Wang Biao clearly didn't want to lose to this slender "girl." He shouted and swung his fist at Han Huayang again. However, this time, Han Huayang picked up a suitcase containing his luggage and forcefully smashed it into Wang Biao's head.

A muffled thud echoed, and Wang Biao collapsed without a sound.

Sun Zhe, who had been trembling and watching everything unfold, said from the side, "Holy crap, Han Huayang, when did you become this formidable?"

Han Huayang only glanced at Sun Zhe, said nothing, and ran out with the suitcase.

  1. Thanks for today's chapters

  2. Wow, what a crappy father. There are some lines even scum don't normally cross, and selling family as collateral is one of them.

That said I forgot Han had a sister. Things could be interesting later on if his family learns of his occupation. I'm sure at some point there will be a chapter with the Han being mistaken as his sisters sister.

  3. I won’t be happy if the Father never got punished in this Novel. Furthermore, I forgotten if it mentioned his location?
