[CH. 22.5] Extra Story 1

After the battle with Kate and Magical Girl Lillian, Kate returned to her residence in the "Interstice World."

The Interstice World was a special space located between the human world and the spirit world. It was a reflection of the spirit realm projected into the human realm, a place of infinite vastness within finite limits—a contradiction in terms. The infinite vastness referred to the space's ability to contain an infinite number of objects, while the finite limits indicated the presence of a finite boundary. This apparent contradiction was the harmonious union of the spirit realm and the human world.

Kate transformed into a streak of light and flew into her residence—a standalone castle that covered only 30 square meters.

From an exterior perspective, calling it a castle might be a stretch; it was more like a small tower. The entire outer wall was constructed from gray bricks, and the spire-like structure was only two stories tall. While the crimson spire was adorned with stone carvings to add some detail, the building itself seemed to lean and twist upward as if it had been blown by the wind.

As a "castle," a low stone dam enclosed a narrow courtyard, and a miniature moat served as the castle's outer perimeter.

Ever since Kate began learning about the human world, she had dreamt of living in a castle. She adored the elegant and classical feeling of castle owners.

After graduating from the Spirit Academy, Kate spent five years building this castle. She did it all to enjoy the elegant and classical life of a castle owner.

Unfortunately, the finished house was far too artistic, and the compact, contorted design couldn't withstand the slightest shake.

Perhaps the presence or absence of a house wasn't crucial to elves, but owning a beautiful and magnificent one often attracted the admiration and envy of other elves.

"Kate, you're back? By the way, why have you become so small?"

A golden-haired loli with a giant bow tied to her hair stood at the entrance of Kate's castle. She saw Kate flying in and excitedly picked her up.

After her battle with Li Meiting, Kate had expended too much of her "essence." Her cat form had shrunk considerably, and now she was only the size of two palms, resembling a tiny, newborn kitten. The loli held her completely.

("Essence": The power that allows spirits to continue their activities in the human world, to some extent, it can be understood as popularity.)

"Susan, put me down quickly! Don't touch my fur!"

Kate hated it the most when people treated her like a cat to be petted. She was a spirit, not a real cat.

"Good kitten should make meow-meow sounds. I heard real kitties purr when they're comfortable. Can you purr for me?"

"Purr my foot! Did you come here for something?"

"This isn't just coming to play, it's been about 32 hours since I heard your voice. I missed you," Susan said.

"Do you really have to remember that so clearly?"

"Hehe, well, I'm always thinking about you."

Susan smiled, revealing her tiny fangs, looking innocent and cute.

Despite her loli appearance, Susan was much older than Kate. She was one of the earliest contracted spirits, having started making contracts with humans to create magical girls about 20 years ago. While spirits typically didn't have a limited lifespan, when it came down to it, Susan had probably lived for several hundred years longer than Kate.

Susan cradled the mini version of Kate the cat and bounced into the castle.

The small building had a cramped exterior but was quite magnificent on the inside. The two of them crossed the empty grand hall, walked through spacious corridors, and climbed the spiral stone stairs for a while until they reached the attic at the top of the castle.

Susan leaned on the windowsill and looked outside. The view outside was not much different from being on the ground.

"Kate, there's something I've been wanting to ask you. We've climbed quite a long way up, so why does the view from here look just like the original height?"

"Because of the boundary limit. By using a certain method to close off the space inside the house, you can expand into a new bounded infinity. The shape of the house is the boundary of this space. As long as you're inside this house, you can't surpass the boundary. Didn't they teach you all this in school?"

"I'm not the kind of top student you are. I've long forgotten what they taught in school. Besides, you don't usually need to make the house this big, right? It took ages just to walk from the entrance, and my calves are almost cramping."

"So, we just use mirror transitions to get around. Probably only you would choose to walk up."

Kate complained as she jumped out of Susan's hands. Her tiny body landed on the desk like a pale-yellow furball, even smaller than the decorative items on the table.

"So, what's the matter? You made it all mysterious and insisted on coming here to tell me?"

"Hehe, you probably don't understand."

Susan closed the curtains, blocking out the sunlight and darkening the room significantly. She snapped her fingers, and a cluster of bright yellow light points floated out from her fingertips, casting a gentle glow that outlined Susan's figure.

She slowly unbuttoned the hem of her top, smiling as she revealed her fair lower abdomen.

"Ta-da, Louise created a super fancy magic, do you want me to engrave this pattern on you too?"

"This... this radiance is..."

On Susan's lower abdomen, there was an intricate pattern emitting a pink fluorescent light. The spirit's power flowed within the lines, gathering a substantial force and emitting a mysterious pink aura.

"Isn't this a **** mark?"

"Hey, how did you know?"

"You could at least deny it. Isn't it awful to have this thing engraved on you?!"

"Louise said it's perfectly normal."

Susan lowered her head, caressing the pink light pattern, and her face blushed slightly.

"Let me engrave it on you too, the location on the lower abdomen is so warm and comfortable."

"I definitely don't want it!"

Kate was scared and changed her self-address, quickly jumping off the table and trying to escape towards the door. However, Susan was faster. She quickly grabbed Kate by the nape of her neck, lifting her up.

"Hehe, there's no escaping now."

Susan chuckled evilly, bringing her fingers closer to Kate's body. The mini version of Kate squirmed in Susan's hand, but it was ultimately futile.

"Spirit Magic - Rune Engraving Addendum!"

"No, don't!"

30 minutes later, in Kate's large bed. Susan cuddled Kate in the soft velvet blanket.

"How does it feel? Comfortable?"

"I won't feel comfortable..."

"Really? What did you just say?"

"Well... so comfortable, don't stop..."

Susan stroked the cat's back, following the direction of the spotted pattern. She scratched the cat's neck and belly, gently pressing the soft pads on the four paws.

The pink pattern was engraved between Kate's two hind legs. After just 30 minutes of massage and tickling, Kate, as a spirit, completely lost control. Whenever the pink light flickered, Kate would nuzzle Susan's hand, and it even unconsciously licked Susan's fingers, making purring sounds from its belly.

"Kate, do you want to be my little kitty forever? I will take care of you every day, give you fish snacks every day, and sleep with you every night."

"And give me a massage every day... and maybe scratch my chin..."

"This magic created by Louise is really amazing."

Susan marveled at the magic and continued to tease Kate. "But to be my little kitty, you have to know how to meow. That's what makes it cuter."

"Meow~ Meow~"

"Not 'meow,' it's 'meow-meow.'"

"Meow-meow-meow~"

"That's not it..."

---

Louise didn't tell Susan that the engraved magic could only last for three hours.

When the magic wore off, Kate chased Susan and gave her a thorough beating. Finally, she even put Susan in a small square box.

"Kate, I really didn't mean it. Please forgive me. I just wanted you to be my little kitty."

"Who would want to be your cat!"

"Meow-meow~ Meow-meow~"

Susan imitated Kate's voice with strange, sweet, and cloying sounds, which grated on Kate's nerves. She shivered, feeling a mix of embarrassment and anger.

"Get lost! My voice is not as disgusting as yours!"

Kate angrily retorted and slammed the box shut, then threw it against the wall.

However, Kate was not a grudge-bearing spirit.

Just a few hours later, it released Susan from the box.

Susan, upon her release, immediately picked up Kate and affectionately rubbed her head.

"Kate, I knew you wouldn't bear to keep me in the box. You're the best, love you~"

"Hold on! I didn't say I'd let you out unconditionally." Kate wriggled out of Susan's palm and showed her a maid outfit. "Be my maid for a month, and we'll call it even for what happened earlier."

Susan tilted her head and asked, "A maid, like the one who cleans the house?"

"And also cook, take care of daily life, assist me with my work, and occasionally give me a shoulder massage, and it will be perfect."

"Kate... hehe, you might be starting to like the feeling of massages, aren't you?"

"Well... kinda."

Kate's ears drooped as she softly rested her head on the table. Spirits rarely lied, and even though she felt embarrassed, Kate acknowledged her feelings.
